Micah Nye
Hi, I’m Micah! I am a Masters in Robotics Student at Carnegie Mellon Univeristy with Profs. Sebastian Scherer and Wenshan Wang in the AirLab in the Off-road Autonomy Group.
My research interest is in the intersection of field robotics, controls, and machine learning to develop robots that can continuously learn in new scenarios by reasoning about environment contexts and uncertainty. Developing such robots will help robots navigate severe, challenging environments with precision and an acute understanding of where it is navigating. I am most recently working on autonomous off-road robots.
Prior to this, I led an autonomous racing team, MIT-PITT-RW, where I developed adversarial path planners to overtake opponents at 155+ mph. We competed in competitions across the globe, at famous F1 circuits like Monza.
